So... what is Counselling?
Counselling is about being given the opportunity to talk without judgement in a safe, supportive, confidential space, about your life and issues that may be confusing, painful or uncomfortable. It can be about MAKING SENSE of those thoughts and feelings, and having a DEEPER UNDERSTANDING of why you are feeling the way you do. The benefit of counselling is that you may become more able to deal with, accept, manage and resolve the problems and issues in your life.
Very often life changes like: moving, changing jobs, the beginning or ending of relationships, starting a family, mid-life crisis, 'coming out', bereavement or retirement can be very stressful, worrying, or even depressing. Maybe you don't understand why you are 'feeling' like you are and are finding it hard to talk to those close to you.
In our hectic world today it can be too easy to put aside thoughts & feelings we find upsetting. We put on our armour and carry on regardless, disregarding our hurt or pain. Maybe you don't think you matter - well I think you do! I believe your mental well-being is just as important as your physical health.
